Experience Adventure Aquarium in New Jersey

Adventure Aquarium in Camden, NJ is a fun and entertaining place to spend a day learning about a variety of marine and freshwater animals. There are outdoor as well as indoor attractions to explore at Adventure Aquarium, including hands-on and interactive exhibits. 

One of the most intriguing exhibits at Adventure Aquarium is the West African River Experience. This exhibit includes not only river fish and creatures, but free-flying birds and an African porcupine. Two huge Nile hippos are included in the West African River exhibit, and you can learn all about them during special presentations held throughout the day.

Another African-themed exhibit at Adventure Aquarium is Penguin Island. Twenty African Penguins live in this spacious habitat, and you can view the penguins both on land and underwater at a special viewing area. Aquarium biologists speak with visitors in depth about penguins at talks given on site at Penguin Island throughout the day.

There are two beautiful and intriguing rainforest exhibits at Adventure Aquarium. The Irazu Falls exhibit features a full two story waterfalls that spills into a deep, freshwater pool. You can see fish native to the Amazon River here, including both small and large species. Arawana, Pacu and stingrays that live in freshwater are featured in this impressive display.

The second rainforest exhibit at Adventure Aquarium features exotic, tropical creatures such as the chinchilla, short-tailed opossum, turtles and snakes. You can learn about and even touch some of the amazing animals in this Mayan-themed display.

Adventure Aquarium’s Ocean Realm exhibit features bowmouth guitarfish, or Shark Rays. These are incredibly rare to see displayed in an aquarium setting, and you will enjoy learning about and observing these incredible creatures.   

Shark Realm is a very popular exhibit you can look forward to experiencing at Adventure Aquarium. As you enter the 40-foot shark tunnel, you’ll see a variety of different species of sharks and other creatures. Adventure Aquarium also presents visitors with a unique opportunity to have a truly interactive shark adventure. You can schedule your own shark swim right on site at the Aquarium.
 
These are just some of the many fascinating exhibits to explore at Adventure Aquarium. Live sea lion shows are held daily, and there are several opportunities for hands-on visits with the animals. Visitors can touch a shark or starfish in one of the Touch Pools, and you can even hand feed some of the birds in the Feather Ridge platform.

There is so much to see and experience, it will take several hours to tour all of the exhibits at Adventure Aquarium. You can relax and enjoy lunch at the Aquarium’s cafe, and finish your day at the Aquarium with a stop at the gift shop for souvenirs.
